| As the wave passes through the gaps in the first filter, 50% of the energy is absorbed. The wave moves on to the second filter which further reduces the energy, producing much calmer waters behind the attenuator.
The whole structure is moored using elastic rodes attached to helical anchors. This gives the ability to flex with the waves – the rodes permit it to absorb waves up to several meters high, whilst the anchors ensure a strong attachment to the sea bed. Filters are adaptable to the depths of water. |
